Volkswagen Fox is an urban car that was produced for the Brazilian market. Although it is similar in size to the B-segment, due to the low price, the manufacturer positions it in the A-segment.

First, the Brazilian-made Volkswagen Fox, then called Voyage, was sold in the markets of America and Canada from 1987 to 1993. Then it was possible to purchase a sedan with 2 and four doors, and in addition a station wagon with three doors.

"Foxes" had a gasoline engine with a capacity of 81 horsepower and a volume of 1.8 liters - it was placed longitudinally, combined with a gearbox in 4-5 steps. There were no versions with an "automatic", and in general the equipment of the car turned out to be rather modest - even then it was a simple, cheap Volkswagen relative to other American models.

The second generation dates back to 2003. After the redesign, the car got a wonderful updated appearance. Available in 3 and 5 door versions, it has 1 liter engines with 72 horsepower and 1.6 liter engines with 101 horsepower. It can operate both on gasoline and on a commonly used alternative fuel - the so-called. ethanol. If ethanol is chosen, then the return will be three to four horsepower more.

A 5-speed automatic transmission is only paired with a 1.6L engine.

Later, updated versions of cars appeared in the lineup, namely the CrossFox pseudo-crossover, the SpaceFox compact van.

In 2005, these models began to be brought to Europe. They bought the car, but not too actively, and in the future its deliveries stopped.

Volkswagen Fox with a liter engine and a five-speed manual transmission has been produced since 2003 at the brand's Brazilian facilities. The car received a sporty-looking seat, central locking, fifteen-inch alloy wheels, power steering. For Brazilian buyers, this car is better known as "Lupo". The "BlueMotion" version is significantly different in appearance from the rest of the line.

1.2-liter Volkswagen Fox and its specifications:

Since 2005, Fox with an engine capacity of 1.4 liters began to be actively supplied to European countries. The package could include ABS, electric power steering, electric drive and heated mirrors, audio system. A diesel version of the car has also appeared, which has direct fuel injection and turbocharging, which is unpretentious in repair and maintenance.

1.4TDi MT

Volkswagen modification 1.4 TDi MT has 70 horsepower at a maximum speed of 161 km / h and low fuel consumption: urban cycle - 6.1 liters, suburban cycle - 4.2 liters, combined cycle - 4.9 liters. The rear suspension is on trailing arms, which in turn are connected by a beam fixed to the body.

1.6 AT

Front-wheel drive 1.6-liter modification with an automatic 5-speed gearbox. It develops a maximum of 171 km / h, has a power steering and independent suspension.
