Interior
The interior of the restyled Volkswagen Sirocco 2015, as before, is provided for the driver and 3 passengers. The pilot's seat has an exemplary seating position and ideal placement of controls. The updated interior boasts a new multifunctional steering wheel with 3 spokes and a rim slightly trimmed at the bottom, a modern dashboard that has received 2 dials in the wells responsible for the speed mode and engine speed. The dashboard is decorated with a color display of the multifunctional "board computer", as well as a different shape of the ventilation holes.
It is very difficult not to notice the superstructure above the center console, equipped with three sensors (turbo pressure, oil temperature, and a stopwatch). If you take everything else, then the interior remained the same. The car has strict seats not only in the front, but also in the second row. The German coupe is distinguished by high-quality finishing materials, a high level of assembly and detailing of interior elements.
The Volkswagen GTS version boasts a custom sports steering wheel with red stitching and the GTS logo, stainless steel pedals, a panel cover made from a new material and also with a GTS badge. The upper part of the back has red decorative stitching. Not without special contrasting red seams for seat belts, brake lever, shift boot, armrest and floor mats.
Specifications
4-cylinder in-line engines with a 16-valve DOHC type gas distribution mechanism, gasoline direct injection and a turbocharging system.
The role of the junior is performed by a 1.4-liter 122-horsepower power plant (200 Nm). Such an “engine” allows you to accelerate from zero to the first hundred in 9.7 seconds. The maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption of the 3rd generation Volkswagen Scirocco is about 6.4 liters for a manual gearbox and 6.3 liters for models with DSG.
Next comes a motor with a similar displacement of 1.4 liters, but it was boosted to 160 “horses” (240 Nm). The German coupe already spends only 8.0 seconds to conquer the first hundred with it, and the speed limit is at the level of 218 kilometers per hour. Gasoline consumption with the "robot" is slightly less: 6.3 liters versus 6.6 for the "mechanics".
The flagship is the 2.0-liter engine, which is capable of generating 210 horsepower (280 Nm). In just 6.9 seconds, a car with such an engine accelerates to a speed mark of 100 kilometers per hour. In combined mode, this unit consumes about 7.5 liters of 95 gasoline.
After the 2014 update, the engine compartment was slightly revised. For example, the younger 1.4-liter power plant has increased power to 125 horsepower. Also not without 2.0-liter turbocharged engines running on gasoline, the power of which depends on forcing: 180, 220 or 280 horsepower. For European countries, the Germans decided to supply modernized "diesels", the power of which is 150 and 184 horsepower.
Transmission
Together with the initial and intermediate engine, a 6-speed manual or 7-band DSG robotic gearbox operates, which has two clutches and a manual shift function. The most powerful engine received a non-alternative 7-band DSG box.
